The problem of hair loss is growing and so is the demand for hair restoration techniques. There are a number of medicated shampoos and serums available in the market claiming to help you combat significant hair loss. A number of oral medications (mostly multivitamins) are also prescribed by the dermatologists to help reduce hair loss. However, these traditional methods need a lot of time and patience to deliver results. But in this era of technology, people prefer procedures that offer instant results, and this is where Hair Transplant Surgery comes in the picture.
Hair transplant is a surgical cosmetic procedure that involves taking follicular hair grafts from a donor area (back or sides of the head) and transplanting them at the balding areas (usually the frontal area of the head). Two most commonly used techniques of hair transplant are Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) (also known as Strip Method Transplant) and Follicular Unit Extraction. The former relates to surgically removing a thin strip of scalp containing hair follicles, dividing it into follicular units and relocating them in the bald areas; whereas the latter involves extracting follicular units one by one and then transplanting them where required.
